Full Description:
You are cordially invited to participate in a community workshop hosted by the students of the City and Regional Planning Department at Cal Poly State University. The workshop will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 in Olympic Hall at Nipomo High School to discuss conceptual plans for Nipomo that address future development.
At this workshop students in the Community Planning Laboratory of the City and Regional Planning Department will present their preliminary concept plans for development. The students are engaged in a five month long project to develop a community plan which will outline different avenues that the community may take to accommodate new development, enhance the quality of life, and bring new vitality to the community. The class is working in cooperation with the San Luis Obispo County Planning and Building Department.
The students would like feedback on the draft plans they recently developed as a result of the research they have completed over the last several months and the input they received from the public at a workshop held in November 2007. The students’ plans address future commercial and mixed-use development, single and multi-family housing, parks, circulation, and many other issues important to the future of Nipomo.
As a member of the local community, your views are particularly valuable. We greatly appreciate your participation and comments regarding our conceptual plans. Please join us at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 23, 2008 in Olympic Hall, Nipomo High School, at 525 N. Thompson Avenue. Should you have questions about this meeting, please, call us at 756-1507 (Zeljka) or 756-2285 (Kelly). Or you can e-mail us at zhoward@calpoly.edu or kdmain@calpoly.edu.
Please pass this information to anyone who you believe would be interested in attending our meeting. We look forward to seeing you on February 23, 2008.
Sincerely,
Zeljka Howard, Faculty Advisor
