After 33-years into his firefighter career, Battalion Chief Dan Anderson hung up his helmet for the last time at the California Department of Forestry station in Nipomo.
“To be a battalion chief for the area I grew up in was a dream for me,” said Anderson, 53, of Grover Beach. “It was an enjoyable career.”
