Full Description:
NCSD is hosting a series of free “Water-Wise” Lansdcaping Workshops this summer. On Sat., July 22nd, Gus Van Der Stad of Nipomo Old Town Nursery, will present “Low Water Use Plant Selection and Garden Design”. Gus will lead participants through a model redesign and offer plenty of plant selection tips to attendees.
On Sat., August 26th, Ms. Debbie Tidd of Heather Farms Education Center in Walnut Creek, will conduct a special offering of “Our Water, Our World” - practical advice on composting, mulching and integrated pest management. All classes will be held at the NCSD office from 9 am-12 pm at 148 S. Wilson Street in Nipomo.
In addition, NCSD customers can arrange for the free use of an “Easy Gauge Kit” to get an estimate on their landscape water use. An”outdoor water audit” takes less than 30 minutes and will give you exact information on your irrigation system sprinkler output and uniformity of coverage. Contact the NCSD office at 929-1133 to reserve a kit.
More information on the conservation program is available by contacting Madonna Dunbar, Conservation Specialist at the NCSD office.
