FREE SOUTH COUNTY CHIPPING EVENT IN NIPOMO AREA
The FireSafe Council, California Department of Forestry (CDF), California Conservation Corp (CCC) and the San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) are coordinating the sixth annual free chipping event for all residents in Nipomo and the Nipomo /Arroyo Grande Mesa. This is an excellent opportunity to clean our yards of vegetative debris and eliminate potential fire hazards. Disposing of green waste through chipping, as opposed to backyard burning, also preserves our air quality.
The area will be divided into three zones to accommodate for anticipated demand.
Chipping dates for the three zones will be
Zone 1: May 8-21;LAND EAST OF POMEROY AND CALLE FRESCA
Zone 2: May 29-June 11; LAND EAST OF HWY 1O1 AND TEFFT AND WEST OF CALLE FRESCA
Zone 3: June 19-July 2; LAND EAST OF HIGHWAY 101 ANSD SOUTH OF TEFFT
Chipped materials can be used for landscaping or at special request can be removed from your property. You must sign-up at least one week prior to the start of chipping in your zone to participate in this event. Sign-up forms can be downloaded from the web at (WWW.SLOCLEANAIR.COM) or call 929-3911.
